Privacy Policy

Lightframer Pro ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights when you use the Lightframer Pro applications for iOS and Android ("App").
Information We Collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the App. We do not operate our own servers, we do not require an account, and we do not use advertising SDKs. Almost everything the App does happens on your device. The one exception is the optional map feature described below.
Location Data
The App requests access to your device's location to calculate sun position, sunrise and sunset, golden hour and blue hour times, compass heading, and to optionally stamp scouting photos with the coordinates where they were taken. This processing happens on your device. Location is not sent to us. If you use the 3D Shadow Map, location is also handled by Mapbox — see "Maps and Third-Party Services" below.
Camera and Microphone
The App uses your camera to power the live viewfinder, and — when you choose to record video — your microphone to capture the accompanying audio. The live preview is processed in real time on your device and is never uploaded. Photos and videos are only created when you deliberately capture them.
Photos and Videos You Capture
Photos and videos you capture are stored locally on your device, in the App's own storage. They are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. You may choose to export them to your device's photo gallery, to a PDF, or to share them through your device's standard share options — those actions are under your control. Note that exported images may have capture information, including location coordinates, rendered visibly into the image itself, so consider that before sharing a file publicly.
Maps and Third-Party Services
The 3D Shadow Map feature is powered by the Mapbox Maps SDK. When you use it, Mapbox receives the map requests needed to draw the map, and the Mapbox SDK collects its own usage and location telemetry in accordance with Mapbox's privacy policy. This is the only feature in the App that sends data off your device to a third party. If you do not open the Shadow Map, this does not apply. No Account Required
Lightframer Pro does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information, and we have no user database.
No Advertising or First-Party Analytics
The App contains no advertising, no advertising SDKs, and no first-party analytics or crash-reporting service. We do not build a profile of you and we do not use your advertising ID. Aside from the Mapbox telemetry described above, no usage data leaves the App.
How We Use Your Information
- Location is used to calculate sun position, golden hour, blue hour, and compass heading, and to optionally geotag photos you capture — processed on-device
- Camera and microphone are used for the live viewfinder and for photo and video capture you initiate — processed on-device
- Photos, videos, albums, and notes are stored on your device so you can review and export your own scouting work
- Map and location data is sent to Mapbox only while you are using the 3D Shadow Map, so it can render the map
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes. We do not receive your content at all. The only third party that receives any data is Mapbox, and only in connection with the 3D Shadow Map as described above. Beyond that, the only data exchanges that occur are standard iOS and Android system interactions governed by Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.
Data Retention
We do not store any user data on our systems, because we do not have any. Location and camera processing happens on your device. Photos, videos, and albums you create remain on your device until you delete them, either from within the App or by uninstalling it.
Children's Privacy
Lightframer Pro is a professional tool intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
Your Rights
You may revoke camera, microphone, or location permissions at any time. On iOS, go to Settings → Privacy & Security. On Android, go to Settings → Apps → Lightframer Pro → Permissions. Revoking location will disable sun tracking and the Shadow Map; revoking camera access will disable the viewfinder; revoking microphone access will record video without sound. You can delete any photo, video, or album from within the App, and uninstalling the App removes all of its stored content from your device.
California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected about them and to request its deletion. We do not collect or sell personal information, and we hold no personal information about you on our systems, so there is nothing for us to disclose or delete. Content you create stays on your device and is yours to delete at any time.
Our Website
This website uses the Meta pixel to measure the performance of our advertising. This is separate from the App and does not involve any data from the App. You can control this tracking through your browser settings and through your ad preferences with Meta.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
